Awards

Bimonthly Competitions

  • Certificate Award: At the end of each round, certificates will be awarded for both print and projected entries gaining First, Second, Third, Highly Commended and Commended.
  • The Calder Camera Club John Calvert Memorial Trophy: On completion of all 5 rounds, a trophy will be awarded to the member with the highest final mark in the print competition. A member’s final mark will be the sum of the 8 highest scoring print entries taken from all 5 bimonthly competitions.
  • The Calder Camera Club Royd Trophy: On completion of all 5 rounds, a trophy will be awarded to the member with the highest final mark in the projected image competition. A member’s final mark will be the sum of the 8 highest scoring projected image entries taken from all 5 bimonthly competitions.

Annual Competition

Based on the judge’s decision during the print and projected image competitions, winning members will be awarded:

  • Certificate of Merit in Prints: for entries in both Applied and General Categories, awarded Best in Category, Second, Third, Highly Commended and Commended.
  • Certificate of Merit in Projected Images: for entries in both Applied and General Categories, awarded Best in Category, Second, Third, Highly Commended and Commended.
  • The Calder Camera Club Print Trophy: for the best print entry (Applied and General) in the whole competition.
  • The Calder Camera Club Colour Slide Trophy: for the best projected image entry (Applied and General) in the whole competition.
  • The Tom Beaumont and Champion Crabtree Memorial Trophy: for the best natural history print entry in the Applied Category.
  • The John Woodhead Trophy: for the best natural history projected image entry in the Applied Category.

Best Newcomers Trophy

This is awarded to the new member gaining the highest total of 16 marks over the whole competition programme comprising:

  • the best 8 marks in the bimonthly competitions for print and projected image entries combined;
  • the best 8 marks in the annual competition for print and projected image entries combined.

Eligible members are those who have first joined the club in either the current or preceding year.

The Photographer of the Year Trophy

A trophy will be awarded to the member gaining the highest total of 16 marks over the whole competition programme comprising:

  • the best 8 marks in the bimonthly competitions for print and projected image entries combined;
  • the best 8 marks in the annual competition for print and projected image entries combined.

Prize Giving

Prize giving takes place at the end of the year.

Please Note: The trophies belong to the Club and should be returned to the Club on or before the next Annual General Meeting.
